Watercolour painting of the Fishergate in Sandwich Kent. Leading on to the Quay, Fishergate as it is seen today dates from 1560. The lower part dates from 1384 and together with the other gates of the town, (The Barbican being the only one still standing), formed part of the fortifications ordered by Richard II.
