Giclée Printing

Giclée is a technique for making fine art reproductions, using digital inkjet technology. The technique produces deep, saturated colours and these prints have a beautiful paint-like quality that retains all the subtle detail of the original.

There are two surfaces that are used for Giclée printing:
  • Paper which has been manufactured to hold the ink in a specific way. We use natural white Hahnemühle German etching FineArt paper (310 g/m2) or Tecco Digital Photo Gallery Board (330 g/m2) depending on the subject.
  • Canvas which has been specially coated to receive the pigmented ink and hold it so that it does not mix and blur. We use FinePrint Injet canvas (411 g/m2).

The Giclée printing process provides better colour accuracy than other means of reproduction. The prints available here have been produced on a professional 8 colour machine with pigmented inks that are UV resistant and guaranteed to last without changing colour in indoor light for 200 years. However, it is always advisable not to place prints in direct sunlight.

All materials (including the mounts) are acid free.
